benefit 2014!

Friends, it is the last week of August – which means the benefit is only a few weeks away! How can that be??? Our team has been hard at work getting ready for Friday, September 19th! It is truly coming together and we are so excited to share this night with you! There is going to be fabulous food, amazing cocktails, great music and most importantly an exciting program! We’ve been getting a few questions now that it is getting closer, so I thought I might answer some of them here for you…

Do I need a ticket? Yes, however, there is no actual paper ticket. This is an eco-friendly ticketless event. But registration is required to attend. Click here to register!

Can I transfer my registration to someone else? Unfortunately no. Because of the pledging devices we are using this year, reservations cannot be transferred to another party.

Will there be tables to sit at? Yes. There will be plenty of seating (including tables) options throughout the space, but there are no reserved tables this year because we are not having a seated/plated dinner.

Will there be food? Yes! Lots of delicious passed and plated appetizers, snacks and desserts. You will not go hungry!

How will I find my friends? We think you will actually have an easier time finding your friends this year than at our previous benefits. There is going to be a lot more space, so you will actually be able to see across the room! Text messaging, carpooling or using our partnership with Uber will help! We will also send out a map of the room the week of the event so you can make a game plan if necessary.

Who is hosting this year’s event? Our dear friend – the incredibly talented, hilarious, actor and comedian…Mr. Joel McHale!

Will there still be an opportunity to donate? Yes! We are hoping to raise a lot of money that night to accelerate the work that is happening at the Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer Research.

What if the idea of an electronic device for pledging is giving me anxiety? Trust me folks, this is as easy as it gets. Our team tried it on me, because if I can do it, anyone can. There are three steps and two of them involve pushing a colored button.

What are you wearing? I don’t know yet. The lululemon sponsorship didn’t come through, so clearly I will need to remove my black yoga pants. TBD. What should I wear? Though we are moving to a sports facility, cocktail attire is still recommended.

Can I still register? Yes! But do it soon because time is running out! Click here to register. Or if you are Jeff’s parents, call us!

Other questions? Please contact benefit@bentownefoundation.org or call (206) 395-5217!  (Please note if you are registered guest, you will also be receiving an email the week of the event with more information, including info about parking.)

Again, we are so excited about this night! We look forward to celebrating with you!
