There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love. – Washington Irving
Today we pause. We remember. We honor the life of our son.
For Jeff and me, this work has always been about Ben. It has been about advocating against his suffering. It has been about not letting his death be in vain. It has been about keeping his fierce spirit alive. It has been about giving him a legacy.
For some of you this has been about Ben as well. But for many of you this work is about your child, your grandchild, your niece, your nephew, your cousin, your neighbor, or your colleague – and we are thankful you have joined us in their honor.
For the families whose children are now in remission because of your generosity, I am guessing it is about immense gratitude.
At the deepest level for all of us, it is about compassion. It is about believing that all kids deserve cures that preserve their lives, their minds and their bodies.
For the amazing, compassionate and generous ways you and your families have come alongside Ben Towne Foundation this year we are grateful.
Happy New Year…
In Ben’s Name,
Jeff and Carin
