While we were hard at work on the benefit 2013, our Boise and Eastside Chapters were preparing and hosting events of their own to raise funds and awareness for the research happening at the Ben Towne Center! Though they are approximately 900 miles apart in geography, their hearts are in the same place. We could not be more thankful for these incredible women and their families.
In mid-September our Boise Chapter hosted it’s second annual yard sale. And by “yard” sale, I mean covering the entire yard, driveway and practically taking over the street sale. Take a look:
Many thanks to the Kearney family for hosting this fun event and allowing their house to be absolutely taken over! And to all the Boise Chapter girls for collecting, promoting, sorting and staffing this great day!
Last Saturday over 300 adults and children participated in this inaugural event! It was amazing to see so many families up early on a rainy Northwest morning. I was remarking to Jeff on the way out to Marymoor Park about how less than three years ago these women told us they wanted to put on a race – and here they were actually doing it. It blew us away. Please visit their Facebook page later this week for event photos and race results. I managed to snap a few pictures of my own in between watching kids in the bounce house, face painting, chatting with the Redmond Fire Department (they brought their firetruck for all the kids to see) and more…
And they are off!
