holiday cheer

We continue to be amazed how so many of you are turning events and activities you already participate in into ways to raise awareness and funds for Ben Towne Foundation. It is truly humbling for us and once again we are filled with so much gratitude. Allow us to share a few examples with you…

KEENER’S CHRISTMAS

When Jeff and Candice Keener told us they wanted to use their Christmas light display to raise awareness and donations for Ben Towne Foundation we thought to ourselves, “Oh my goodness, isn’t that sweet?” But after having the chance to visit their holiday wonderland last week, “sweet” does not come close to doing it justice. “Amazing”, “cool”, “incredible”, and “awe” were all mixed in with, “Seriously, how did you do this?” It is impossible in words or pictures to describe their efforts. There are over 100,000 lights on their property in Bothell! A twenty foot snowman, Santas, Mrs. Claus, Mater (which THRILLED Ryan), Yoda and more. While you drive through you can listen to their own radio station! We had so much fun being there. Here are a few pictures from our visit:

Ryan was so excited to see Mater right behind Rudoph!

LET IT SNOW!

For those of you who attend, or have attended, University Presbyterian Church you are familiar with Trumpeter Donald Wayne and Bassist Thad Crow. These two, along with Musical Director Jack Klitzman got together at Studio X here in Seattle to produce “Let it Snow”  – a Christmas album featuring Donald Wayne. Throughout the album Don is joined by many talented friends, including Sue Nixon and Walt Wagner. Just released this season, “Let it Snow” is on sale now and they are donating a percentage of the sales to Ben Towne Foundation.

BUCHANAN HOLIDAY PARTY

I have known Jeane since the 6th grade, which is hard to imagine!  In December 2010, shortly after our launch, Jeane generously turned her annual not-so-small holiday party into an opportunity to raise awareness and funding for Ben Towne Foundation. This past Saturday it was hosted at 1927 Events here in Seattle and she once again featured BTF. Thank you Jeane!

*Thank you to everyone for your participation in big and small ways. Every mention, every penny, every dollar and every conversation that comes from these acts of generosity helps our pursuit. Together, with your families, we have the chance to change childhood cancer – even if you don’t change what you are already doing!
