Today we have the honor of introducing you to Kim of Kim Caron Designs. Kim is a Seattle native, whom I had the privilege of meeting in college. She is a inspired jewelry designer and is using her business as a way to bring awareness and attention to our work. If you haven’t had a chance to check out her website you are definitely missing out! I asked Kim if she would share with us a little bit about how and why she chose to get involved with BTF…
I experienced first-hand the life changing impact that high quality and innovative medical care can have on a child. My son Max received care at Seattle Children’s Hospital for several years. When I started my company last spring, one of my main motivations was to give back to the medical community. My sister Katie told me about Ben Towne Foundation. How could one not be truly inspired by Carin and Jeff? The more I learned about these two amazing parents and their foundation, the more they blew me away. They were able to leverage one of the worst possible experiences a parent can endure as inspiration to build an extraordinary foundation to fight against pediatric cancer. Since Ben Towne Foundation has partnered with Seattle Children’s, it was the perfect fit for me.
Last year, I decided to create a pendant called the “Callie”. I named it after Ben’s good friend Callie, the namesake and founder of Callie’s Coffee. I am proud to say that 100% of the proceeds from the Callie pendants go straight to Ben Towne Foundation. Currently I have 3 designs of the pendant – “hope”, “faith” and “love”. You can check them out here. Thanks to my amazing business manager Dana, who has helped me get my business organized, I am now able to really focus on what I love to do – design and create jewelry. The partnership between Kim Caron Designs and Ben Towne Foundation has really been a life-changing relationship for me. It allows me to do what I love to do while at the same time truly feel like I have a small part in inspiring change in the way we fight cancer. It’s a true win-win.
Thank you so much Kim for using not only your own gifts, but your entire business, to accelerate research at the Ben Towne Center. We are so appreciative of your generosity!
*An aside – I have the “hope” pendant and love it! For those of you who will be shopping for the special mom in your life over the next few weeks be sure to check out KCD – 20% of proceeds from every sale and 100% of proceeds from “callie” necklaces are donated to Ben Towne Foundation!
